Curiosities

  • This is the first movie in the entire universe of DC animated films where there is no Batman.

  • The film has several differences with the comic on which it is based:

  • In the comic, H.I.V.E. Hires Deathstroke to capture the Titans. In the film, they are replaced by Brother Blood.

  • Cyborg and Donna Troy were omitted in the plot despite being titans at the time of comics. This is probably due to the continuity of the film, since Cyborg is part of the Justice League, and Donna does not join the Titans until after the end of the film. They are replaced by Blue Beetle and Damian Wayne. Blue Beetle's capture of Deathstroke (electrifying a metal chair) was the same way that the villain captured Cyborg in the comic.

  • Jericho and his mother, Adeline Kane, played a key role in the comic book's climax. In the film, Adeline is completely omitted, and Jericho is only used as a test subject for Brother Blood's machine.

  • Dick Grayson is Nightwing in this movie, while the comic book "The Contract of Judas" was presented as Nightwing.

  • Deathstroke's reason for accepting the contract in the comic is to get revenge on the Titans for the death of his son, Grant Wilson. In the film, Deathstroke takes the contract to get revenge on Damian Wayne for thwarting his plans in Son Of Batman.

  • Terra's character is altered in adaptation. In the comic, she acts friendly towards the titans while harboring a deep hatred towards them and wishes to see them dead because of their own madness. In adaptation, she acts distantly towards the Titans, but eventually her attitude towards them becomes more tender.

  • In the film, Terra's motivation to kill Slade and bring down the whole building is because he betrayed her and gave it to Brother Blood. In the original comic, she wanted to kill everyone in a fit of blinding anger after seeing Slade's affection for her son, Joseph. In the adaptation she also saves the life to Beast Boy.
